Terrence Mackey & Nu Restoration

Whether playing an instrument, penning lyrics or ministering in concert, gospel music sensation Terrence Mackey, along with his group Nu Restoration is spreading an uncompromised message with no hype, no padding, just God given talent and an earnest desire to lift up the name of the Most High.

The group’s debut cd “Nu Restoration – Vol. 1” on Spiritual City Records features a mixture of gospel that is sure to excite the palates of music lovers from young to old and from traditional to contemporary.

Mackey and Nu Restoration’s signature single “Crossover” although riveting with modern beats and catchy phrasing, is geared toward the hip-hop generation encouraging them to cease with the partying and clubbing and crossover to the other side with Jesus Christ.

Other noteworthy cuts on “Nu Restoration – Vol. 1” include “Safety” – a message of assurance and confidence proclaiming no matter what the enemy brings your way, we are always safe with God. “Wipe Your Tears” and “You Can Make It” are both songs of encouragement, hope and restoration.

Mackey, a native of Dallas, TX, like many other gospel artists displayed his love and creativity for music at the age of 4. Now at the age of 29, in addition to leading the group Nu Restoration, is the Minister of Music at Community First Baptist Church in Dallas.

His love for the gospel has propelled him into many areas and has earned him awards and recognition for his God given abilities. Some of those honors include New Artist of the Year, Best Keyboard Player, Best Song Writer from Texas, Gospel Excellence Awards and The Gospel Announcers Guild of Dallas.

Additionally, Mackey and Nu Restoration have shared the stage with many nationally known gospel music artists such as: Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, Yolanda Adams, Smokie Norful, Chester D.T. Baldwin, The Canton Spirituals, Natalie Wilson & S.O.P., Byron Cage, Bishop T.D. Jakes, New Direction, John P. Kee and others.

According to Mackey, Nu Restoration’s overall goal is to bridge the generational gap between the young and the old for a better society and world.
